The Lossless Audio Database

About

Apple Music contains a vast quantity of Lossless tracks, but it isn't easy to find them. That's why I built The Lossless Audio Database, the only website that lists every Lossless track.

This site is still a work in progress, but for now you can view all tracks that have been upgraded recently as well as being able to download daily data exports. In future you'll be able to search the entire Lossless Audio database by artist, album, or track.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between "Lossless" and "Hi-Res Lossless"?

Hi-Res Lossless uses Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC) for bit-for-bit accuracy up to 24-bit/192 kHz whereas Lossless uses Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC) for bit-for-bit accuracy up to 24-bit/48 kHz. If you're asking what the difference is, you likely do not have the audio equipment to notice the difference 😂

I'm interested in Spatial Audio. Do you have a site for that?

I certainly do. Head on over to spatialaudiodb.com!

Why do the data exports only start from 1st June 2023?

Previously I used to publish new Spatial Audio tracks to the @NewSpatialAudio Twitter account. Unfortunately, in May 2023 the new leadership at Twitter caused my API access to be revoked so I could no longer send automated tweets. That's when I built spatialaudiodb.com and losslessaudiodb.com to act as a similar stream of updates along with a search function to browse the entire database I've amassed. Whilst the database has over 10 million tracks in it from over a year of updates, I did not store the date when tracks were updated until I needed that information in June 2023 (so whilst I can tell you that a specific track is available in Spatial Audio or Lossless Audio, I can't tell you when it became available unless it was after 1st June 2023).

I want to build something using your data. Is that ok?

Go for it! The only thing I ask is that you subscribe to my free newsletter so you can get notified of any breaking changes to the data formats.
